My name is Eduardo Távora. I studied at the University of Seville, where I completed a degree in Energy Engineering, specialised in energy saving and efficiency. I would like to move to Valencia, as I know there are more opportunities for growth in the field of engineering in my sector. I have always enjoyed learning in new contexts, as I believe it is the best way to grow personally, and this is not the first time I have done so.
I am used to being away from home, which, rather than being stressful for me, is actually quite comfortable. I know how to manage these kinds of emotions quite well. I am very methodical and do not anticipate problems. Rather, whenever a problem arises, I look for different alternatives to solve it. In my mind, they are like escape routes of different materials and shapes, so that if one fails, I always have another to turn to. I have a fairly stoic mindset in that regard.
I have had many responsibilities since I was a child. I know it may not necessarily be a good thing, but it is a fact that I know how to treat people, I know how to negotiate, and I always know where I stand in relation to the position of the person I am talking to. I try to be respectful and respected in equal measure. Over the last 12 years, I have worked in various types of jobs, as well as gaining significant experience in customer management. In addition, I have been head of the sponsorship department for the university's motorcycling team. Being surrounded by teams of young professionals and people with different mindsets has made me realise what I want in my life and what I am capable of when I work in an optimal environment, as well as how both individual and collective psychology works, another aspect I enjoy reading about.
I have participated in several entrepreneurship courses, I am quite proactive, although to be honest, many people say I am hyperactive, but I take that as an opinion. I just try to do a few extra things during the day, especially if they are useful, such as learning something new or something that will help me with a job, project or dream I have for the future, as a kind of investment. You're not going to live every day as well as you are today, are you? Problems under pressure, I think that might be my speciality, I've been doing it all my life.
I'm great at skills that require minimal psychomotor skills and I enjoy them. Is it one thing leading to the other? Which came first, the chicken or the egg? In any case, I work in carpentry, electronics, bricklaying and sports with fairly good coordination. The applied knowledge that comes from enjoying this type of work gives me a certain confidence.
I am proficient in Excel and AutoCAD. In addition, this year I will learn to use programmes such as Cheq4, Cype 3D, Fussion 360 or SW SIM. I have driving licence since 2017 (for cars and motorcycles) and I have a B2 level in English and Portuguese, although I should clarify that my portuguese is Brazilian, which is slightly different from the Portuguese spoken in my neighbouring country. You could say it is a dialect of portuguese. All portuguese people understand me and, at the same time, they all know that I did not learn portuguese in Portugal.
To conclude this introduction, I would like to make it clear that my main objective is to make a significant difference in my education and training through this great opportunity. Working in places other than my home country will give me the opportunity to develop my professional career in an optimal environment and improve my skills. I want to put myself to the test once again. Or rather, I need to, to be more precise.
I hope that this letter reflects a small glimpse of who I am and how I am. May it give you a slight outline of the person I have become in 2025.
